![]() ![]() Sure, sexism still exists in these products (particularly in the fact that far too many "for women" entertainment is created by men, and is often pandering), but it's leagues more fair than games are. In any other industry there are things made specifically for women. Sexism is a problem that is nowhere more prevalent than in games. ![]() They know that they don't hate women, so they don't see how there's a problem, etc. They disagree with the views of radical, irrational, and unreasonable feminists such as Anita Sarkeesian, so they dismiss the issue as a whole and avoid talking about it or thinking about it. The blanket hate Patrick got when he started to care about such issues and injected them into his writing is evidence of that. Perhaps the most frustrating part is the blanket dismissal of the issue by so many of my fellow gamers who don't want politics and social issues in their games or their games journalism (even though they want games to be seen as art). The relationship between women and video games is something I've been thinking about only recently, and I only get more frustrated the more I think about it.
